Smoked Store-bought Sausages Recipe

Great recipe for a newby to food smoking, or if you just want to spice up your store-bought sausages.

Ingredients

2 (or more) pounds fresh store-bought sausage (Honey Garlic, Hot Italian, etc.)

Preparation

Place the fresh sausage side by side on smoker racks, making sure they are not touching each other.

Start up the smoker, using wood bisquettes of choice (hickory works very well!). Bring the smoker up to a temperature of 250ºF.

Place the sausages in the smoker and cook until the internal temperature reaches 160ºF. The time can vary based on the thickness and size of the sausages. Usually, it can take from 2 ½ to 4 hours.

Hickory Wood Bisquettes

The strong and sweet flavor of Hickory Bisquettes make it one of the more popular woods for smoking, and especially pairs well with poultry, beef, pork, game, water fowl, nuts, and cheese.
