Re: Bradley Smoker Model # BTIS1 and BTST02 Product Recall - December 2nd 2005 Dear Bradley Smoker Owner As you know, Bradley Technologies Canada Inc. (“BTI”) prides itself on making the best and safest smokers on the market. It has come to our attention that some of our recently manufactured smokers may pose a risk of shocking to consumers when the smoker’s power cords are being connected. We are currently looking into how this risk came to be. The risk of shock is as follows. The smoke generator for each smoker has two power cords. One (the long power cord) is removable and is used to connect the smoke generator to a wall or other power outlet. The second shorter power cord is also a removable jump cord that connects the smoke generator with the smoke tower. The receptacles on the smoke generator and the smoke tower are both female and the plugs on both ends of the short jumper cord are male. As a result, there is a potential that current in the short jumper cord plugs could shock a person connecting the cord to the smoke generator and the smoke tower. The risk of shock can be removed completely by changing the receptacle on the smoker tower and changing the plugs on one end of the jumper cord. We will ultimately be making sure that these changes are made with all affected smokers. We stand by our product and value our relations with our distributors, dealers and consumers. Please check all BTI smokers in your possession immediately to see whether any of them has a serial numbers in the following ranges; 0508000110000001 ~ 0508000110000354 If you have in your possession any smoker with a serial number that falls within this range, please call BTI at 1-800-665-4188 - operator available from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Pacific Time or leave a message. Do not use the smoker or otherwise deal with it until we have taken steps to remove the risk of shock. We value our reputation and place the safety of the consumers of our products above all else. We look forward to working with you to address this issue as best we can. |
